Firebird is a database system, which can work with databases from a few kilobytes to tens of gigabytes large, offers great performance, it is easy to maintain, has its own procedure and trigger language (PSQL), and is also surprisingly easy to configure.

Firebird comes with many features that are available in similar paid database platforms – it supports procedures, triggers, transactions, foreign keys, and single database can span across multiple files.

Firebird runs on Windows, Linux and other variants of UNIX, and is an open source code product
