Euro Truck Simulator 2 – Iberia is the latest DLC expansion to the famous driving simulation title that has managed to capture the attention of millions of players from all around the world.

Built on top of the tried-and-true gameplay loop that allows players to fully immerse themselves in the lifestyle of the professional truck driver and cargo logistic company owner, this expansion provides in-depth access to the Iberian Peninsula that is home to the famous European countries of Spain and Portugal.

These two countries are transported into the in-game environment with a staggering amount of detail, with many of its major road networks, scenic environments such as desolate Tabernas desert, famous roadside vistas such as historic castles, and even access to several large cities such as Spain’s capital Madrid and Portugal’s Lisbon. Of course, many coastal towns, shipping hubs, large production plants, and inland cities are also represented, allowing both seasoned and new players of Euro Truck Simulator 2 to expand their network of cargo orders and transport goods from Portugal all the way to the other regions of Europe.

Originally announced for late 2020, this ambitious expansion finally reached gamers in April of 2021, partly in due because developers wanted to boost visuals to a whole new level. They did so not only for the regions found in Iberia but also in the rest of Europe. The game now features an advanced environment rendering engine, more realistic forests and fields, more dense cities, and realistic trackside objects that make every region of Spain and Portugal, from their coast to highest mountain roads look distinct and appealing.

Players can off course fully immerse themselves into the life of truck drivers by not only visiting shipping destinations but also stopping at gas stations and truck stops where they can find much-needed rest.

Available exclusively on Steam, Euro Truck Simulator 2 and its latest Iberia expansion can provide trucking simulation fans incredible amount of fun and immersion. After finishing the work on this impressive DLC expansion, developers of the ETS franchise have already announced starting work on their next project, a large expansion of Russia in the expansion called “Heart of Russia”.

Even though it looks visually more appealing, Euro Truck Simulator 2 – Iberia does not increase the system requirements that are set by the base game. This means that all players of the game can expand their gameplay with a detailed representation of Spain and Portugal with no need to purchase additional gaming hardware.

PROS

New Map Expansion: Iberia adds a significant amount of new map content to the game. It includes Spain and Portugal, offering players new roads, cities, and landscapes to explore.

Diverse Environments: The expansion is expected to feature a variety of landscapes, including coastal roads, mountainous terrain, and urban areas. This diversity can make for more interesting and visually appealing driving experiences.

Realistic Scenery: The developers of the game are known for their attention to detail, and Iberia is likely to continue this trend, with realistic depictions of landmarks, architecture, and natural scenery.

New Cargo Types: Typically, new map expansions come with new types of cargo to transport. This can add variety to gameplay and offer new challenges for players.

Exploration: If you enjoy exploring new areas in the game, Iberia will provide ample opportunities for discovering new cities, rest stops, and hidden gems.

CONS

Performance Impact: Expanding the game world with new content can sometimes lead to increased system requirements and potential performance issues for players with older hardware.

Cost: While the game itself isn't a free game, expansions like Iberia typically come with their own price tag. Some players may find the cost of expansions to be a drawback.

Compatibility: Mods and other third-party add-ons may need updates to be compatible with the new expansion. This can lead to temporary disruptions in the gameplay experience if your favorite mods are not immediately updated.

Repetitive Gameplay: If you've been playing Euro Truck Simulator 2 for a long time, you might find that the core gameplay remains largely the same, even with new map expansions. If you're looking for a significant change in gameplay mechanics, you might be disappointed.
