Haikyuu Otome is a life simulation game that was purposely made to satisfy the needs of the fans of the popular manga and anime series, Haikyuu. Originally appearing in 2012, this popular sports franchise focused on the life of pupils in the Karasuno High School and their athletic achievement in the highly competitive volleyball class and the National tournament that pitted them against the many competent opponents.

The video game version of this appealing franchise was built from the ground up to satisfy not only fans, but also introduce new gamers to this interesting manga/anime universe, and offer everyone an attractive simulation game with a strong story, character development, and gameplay elements.

However, Haikyuu Otome is available for play only in its pre-alpha version. While the full game is still in active development, fans can experience the introduction to this title, and start seeing the simulation potential in the environment of the Karasuno High School. The game is set in the anime environment and introduces two new ones (Alice and Richiyo) that will accompany the player across its campaign. As for the characters from anime, it only brings back the school principal.

Built in the form of a visual novel, this game allows one to socialize with classmates, explore the school from a first-person perspective, and provide meaningful gameplay experiences as the player tries to survive the complicated life of a high schooler.

Since the game is focused on sports activities, players can enroll in five clubs (boy and girl volleyball, art, soccer, and photography) and perform various club activities. It is important to note that players do not have the chance to show off their sports talent on the field but can only be managers that overview the growth of their sports teams.

The pre-alpha version of the game features the introduction to the Karasuno High School, and the enrollment into one of the three available clubs. The full version of the game will feature all the clubs, and the ability to interact (or even enroll) in six schools. But even in this teaser form, this game shows strong potential to offer players a lot of fun and adventures during their exploration of the Haikyuu anime/manga universe.

Haikyuu Otome features a great art style and potential for fun gameplay, but it for now limited by its free pre-alpha demo features. Since it is a visual novel, it has almost non-existent system requirements that make it easily playable on all modern desktop PCs and laptops.
