What's new in this version:
New Features and Improvements:
Clip View:
- The Re-Pitch Warp Mode will now respect the clip's groove settings. It is possible to reinstate the old behavior by adding the -RepitchWarperNoGroove debug option to the Options.txt file.
Control Surfaces:
- Improved the device parameter mappings for Auto Pan-Tremolo, Erosion, Shifter, Spectral Resonator and Spectral Time for use with newer control surfaces.
- Added Control Surface support for the Novation Launchkey MK4 88.
Interface:
- The dialog that is shown when a feature limitation is reached within Live Lite and Intro now includes an Upgrade Live button. Additionally, the Upgrade Live button appears in the Licenses & Updates tab in Live's Settings for Lite and Intro.
Live Bugfixes:
- Fixed a bug where the metronome would miss the downbeat when the global quantization was switched off.
Plug-ins:
- Max for Live can now open or close plug-in editor windows via the LOM
- When controlling Live with Move, it is now possible to open or close plug-in editor windows by pressing the wheel on Move
- MPE mode is now enabled by default for the Ctrl-E plug-in from Expressive E
Setup:
- When rendering a single track, either by choosing the "All Individual Tracks" option or the "Selected Tracks Only" option where only one track is selected, the track's name will now be appended to the name provided in the Save File As dialog, to match the rendering behavior when more than one track is selected.
Splice Integration:
- Updated the Splice installer to version 1.1.0
Tuning Systems:
- 12-tone tuning systems are now better supported in MIDI Tools
- Fixed an issue where it was possible to add more deeply nested tags via Quick Tags than is possible via the Tag Editor
- Fixed an issue where automating the tempo while also automating a device parameter could lead to silence
- Accessibility: On Windows, fixed a bug that prevented screen readers from making announcement when the browser's Filter View or Tag Editor were focused.
- Fixed a crash that occurred when Live was scanning a large number of plug-ins.
- Fixed a crash that occurred when undoing track reordering in a Set that included a Max for Live device that observes the selected track via JavaScript, e.g., Knobbler4.
- Fixed a crash that sporadically occurred when loading a new Live Set after using the File Manager.
- Fixed an issue where it was not possible to capture a time selection of the Main track in the Arrangement View for use with Splice's Search with Sound feature.
- Fixed an issue that occurred when copying a pad that contained multiple chains in a Drum Rack via dragging, where only the first chain would inherit the note assignment of the destination pad
- Fixed a crash that could occur when working with time signature changes in the Arrangement and deleting fragmentary bar time via the context menu
- Live will now correctly restore warp markers in long samples when those samples are imported into a Set
- Fixed an issue where the visibility of the Edit button in Max for Live MIDI Tools did not correctly reflect the state of the Max for Live Developer Mode toggle in the Options menu
- Fixed an issue where some menu commands were only available in English instead of the selected UI language
- On macOS, fixed an issue with navigating the Learn View using the Tab key
- Fixed a crash that could occur when copying a live.remote~ or live.modulate~ object in the Max for Live device editor
- Fixed an issue where applying changes to a Drum Rack chain in the mixer via the context menu would affect the previously selected chain instead of the currently selected one
- Fixed a bug where bouncing parts of a tempo leader clip to a new track would not preserve the current song tempo automation
- Fixed an issue where the Bounce to New Track option was disabled when a track was sidechained in another track and the sidechain was set to Pre-FX
Fixed two issues related to modifying the tempo automation while the automation is overridden:
- Fixed a bug where audible glitches would occur in an unwarped clip's playback as the tempo automation changed
- Fixed a bug where the tempo in the Control Bar would not correspond to the tempo automation values
- The state of the Sync to Incoming Audio option in the Link Settings will now be ignored when Link Audio is not activated. This prevents Live from becoming desynchronized with other Link peers when Link Audio is not enabled.
- The LFO Morph parameter in the Delay device will now be grayed out when selecting the Wander or S&H waveform shapes, as the parameter has no effect when those waveforms are used.
- Fixed a bug which caused some of the text in the UI to appear with incorrect formatting
- Fixed a bug where the Latency and Name options in Link Settings would not be highlighted when in focus
- Fixed a crash that occured when restoring a Set after a crash
- Fixed an issue where it was not possible to use certain navigation shortcuts, such as Tab to switch between Session and Arrangement View, when the Learn View was in focus
- Fixed a bug where the Map buttons could be grayed out in Macro Map Mode when a parameter from a grouped Max for Live device was selected
- Fixed a bug that could cause a mapping assignment to fail when using a Modulator's Multimap browser to map parameters from Max for Live devices
- Fixed an issue on macOS where certain keyboard shortcuts, such as Copy, Paste, Cut, Undo, and Redo, did not work in the Learn View
- The Live API function get_current_smpte_song_time() now respects tempo automation when converting the current song time to SMPTE
- Fixed an issue on macOS where certain keyboard shortcuts, such as Copy, Paste, Cut, Undo, and Redo, did not work with the text fields in the Open and Save File dialogs
- Fixed an issue where creating a breakpoint with the mouse while holding the Copy modifier caused the breakpoint highlight for subsequent keyboard editing to be lost
- Fixed an issue where the Learn View was not resized properly after closing the Picture-in-Picture window by dragging the splitter at the right edge of Live's window
- Fixed an issue where the software text that appeared for the Pack Overview referred to the Learn View. Now, the Pack Overview has a dedicated software text description
- Fixed an issue where deleting an empty time selection in the Arrangement View created an unnecessary undo step
- Fixed an issue on Windows where clicking an external link from the Learn View would open a separate WebView window. Now, external links will be opened in the system's default browser as expected.
- Fixed a crash that could potentially occur with certain Link Audio peers
- Fixed an issue where resizing the main window vertically while in the Picture-in-Picture window caused the WebView to have the wrong height after returning to the Learn View
- Tempo Follower now supports the extremely low tempi (down to 10 BPM) that can be used by external MIDI sync
- Fixed some resizing and placement issues for the Learn View's Picture-in-Picture window that occurred when dragging it to or resizing it on a second display
- Fixed an issue where encrypted samples referenced by Max for Live devices could not be loaded if they had a different modification date from when the Set was last saved. Now, these samples can be loaded even if they have a new modification date, e.g., from an updated Live Pack release.
- Fixed an issue where the "Import Audio/MIDI File..." menu entry was not disabled as expected when a single slot in a Group Track was selected.
- Fixed an issue where using the "Assign Track Color to Clips" or the "Assign Track Color to Grouped Tracks" command in Session View did not change the clip color for Arrangement clips and vice versa. Now, using either command in Session or Arrangement View updates the clip color for the track's clips in both views.
- Fixed an issue where it was not possible to move focus to another view from the Learn View using the Tab key or any of the navigation-related keyboard shortcuts
- Fixed an issue on Windows where certain menu shortcuts, such as AltE and AltF, did not work when the Learn View was in focus
- Fixed a crash that occurred when using certain VST3 plug-ins with the debug option -_PluginAutoPopulateThreshold=128 enabled in the Options.txt file
- Max for Live parameter names and values are now announced by screen readers when in focus on Windows
- Fixed a crash that could occur when restoring a Set if a Max for Live device sets a parameter value as part of a preset restore
- Erosion NoiseBlend UI control now shows the parameter modulation state
- Morph does not affect the Wander Lfo mode in AutoFilter anymore
- Reverted the fix that added screen reader announcements for focused Max for Live device parameters on Windows, as the change introduced a crash bug
