The app changes nothing on your system, installs nothing in your operating system and all other scanner software will continue to function. You can purchase VueScan 64-bit at any time and instantly get a serial number that disables image watermarking.

The app is compatible with over 7400 different scanners on Windows, macOS, and Linux. The best way to see if your scanner works is to download the app (it only takes 60 seconds) You can also check this list of supported scanners.

Why buy new when you can upgrade instantly and for less?
The program saves your scanner, saves you money, and offers powerful new features you can’t find anywhere else - not even from the manufacturer. Use the software to keep your scanner from obsolescence (and from the landfill).

VueScan Mobile for iOS and Android
If you have an iPad, iPhone, or Android phone or tablet, you can use the app Mobile Free for scanning. This is a completely free program that works with the built-in camera and most networked HP, Canon, Epson, Brother, and Samsung scanners.

Outputs scans in a variety of formats
The software can output scanned documents, photos, and film in PDF, JPEG, and TIFF formats. It can also recognize text using OCR and create multi-page pdfs using both flatbed scanners and scanners with automatic document feeders

Great for beginner and pro users
This tool is built so that two completely different types of users can use it. Beginners only need to run the app and press the 'Scan' button. Pro users can change to either the 'Standard' or 'Professional' options to unlock powerful features to have complete control over their scans.

Flexible licensing
You can use Vue Scan on up to four different computers that you personally use, with any combination of operating systems, with any number of scanners, both x32, and x64, with a single license. Standard Edition has free upgrades for a year, Professional Edition has unlimited free upgrades.

User Interface

VueScan’s user interface (UI) is functional and designed with simplicity in mind, though it might feel outdated compared to modern software applications.

The interface is organized into tabs such as Input, Crop, Filter, and Color, making it easier to find settings for a variety of scan adjustments.

While not visually appealing, the UI is straightforward, which makes navigating the program relatively easy for users of all levels. Users can quickly select their scanner and configure settings like file format, resolution, and scan type.

Installation and Setup

Installing this program is a quick and straightforward process. Users can download the latest version from the Hamrick Software website or FileHorse. After downloading the installer, you can follow the on-screen prompts to complete the setup.

The app detects connected scanners automatically, which eliminates the need for complicated configurations. Once installed, the software supports a plug-and-play operation, ensuring that you can begin scanning within minutes.

There are two versions of VueScan available: the free version, which adds a watermark to scanned images, and the paid versions (Standard and Professional), which unlock the full range of features.

How to Use

Launch: After installation, connect your scanner to your computer and launch the software. It will automatically detect the scanner.

Choose Scan Type: Select the scan type (Document, Image, Film) depending on what you’re scanning.

Adjust Settings: Use the Input tab to adjust scan resolution, color depth, file format, and more.

Preview the Scan: Click the “Preview” button to see a quick scan of your document. This allows you to make cropping or color adjustments before the final scan.

Final Scan: Once everything is set, click “Scan” to perform the final scan. The file will be saved in your specified format and location.
