Built from the ground up to be as accessible as possible, this title promotes the use of simple gameplay elements of running, climbing, and jumping inside the online multiplayer environments, enabling players of all ages to play the simple game of “infection” tag. Infected players are tasked with chasing survivors, who must use all their traversal capabilities to evade them.

Gorilla Tag features multiple gameplay modes – Tag and Infection modes for 3 or four players, and highly engaging paintball modes that enable players to throw paint one on another using simple slingshots. The game promotes fast-paced action gameplay, with parkour elements, fast climbing, jumping, and many other moves that are needed to outmaneuver opponent gorillas. Due to its simple gameplay offering an incredibly easy-to-learn set of traversal tools, players can quickly get accustomed to the low-stakes environment where they can easily chat with their friends.

The game is hosting six native levels, all featuring a wide array of vertical traversal options, attractive routes and obstacles, and visual styles. Gorilla Tag is a VR-only game that must be controlled with two hand controllers. Players can move with the help of several built-in traversal modes, and climbing is done by simply grabbing environmental objects such as trees, ropes, buildings, rock outcroppings, and more. The game uses no buttons, sticks, or teleportation modes, making it highly attractive to young players who just want to find quick fun.

Due to the highly expressive nature of in-game VR avatars, all games of Gorilla Tag quickly dissolve into a party scene where players are trying to trip and catch opposing players using realistic hand moves.
