Intel WiDi Media Share is a multimedia sharing application that can enable users of modern Intel laptops to easily send multimedia content between computers and any supported external screen. This includes not only audio/video files but also photos as well. Built from the ground up to work flawlessly on Windows 7 and newer consumer-facing operating systems from Microsoft, It represents one of the easiest ways to share multimedia content between supported devices.

Intel WiDi Media Share is a streamlined application that works on the technology that is provided by “WiDi”, Intel Wireless Display that was established in 2010 and continued to be actively developed until 2015.

Installation and Use

Before trying this app, it is highly recommended that you first install the latest drivers for Intel Wireless Display technology, as well as the latest driver for your integrated Intel GPU. By doing this you will essentially make sure that your PC or laptop is ready to cast wireless transmission to the supported screen in your environment, and that all the software requirements are met.
 
The installation package of Intel WiDi Media Share supports both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows 7 (and newer OS from Microsoft). To finish the installation procedure, all you will need to do is to follow simple on-screen instructions and perform a full restart of your PC or laptop.

Upon starting the app, you will immediately notice that it features many more options that are present in the basic configuration utility of the basic WiDi driver. Here, the app is actually focused on presenting you with all the necessary tools and shortcuts for casting specific content located on your local storage.

The interface of the application is very streamlined and easy to use. It features large on the left side it features large directory and file listing that is optimized for the display on large television displays. On the lower right side are icons for managing the sorting of files (by name, date, or type) and a standalone tool for hiding folder icons.

On top of the window are a connectivity tool and access to the simple settings area. The app is intended to be run in a fullscreen mode on your laptop, with WiDi drivers casting the entire desktop area to the compatible screen around you. In the WiDi configuration, you can set up whether you want to make your desktop mirrored or being extended on your TV.
