Main features
Originally developed more than 15 years ago as part of the “Microsoft Student 2006” package, MS Math Solver managed to dramatically evolve and incorporate many new features. Today, this application is not even available to be used in its original form as a standalone local application.
In late 2019, Math Solver app by Microsoft morphed into a cloud service that can be easily accessible from the modern Edge browser app as a lightweight and easy-to-access extension, and as a streamlined mobile application for iOS and Android devices. The full version of the app is also available online on the official website destination mathsolver.microsoft.com
In its current form, Microsoft Math Solver can excel in many fields of Algebra (factoring, expanding, evaluating fractions, matrices…), Pre-Algebra (mean, mode, fractions, radicals…), Trigonometry, and Calculus. Users can also have full access to Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, and Matrix calculators, and the app can even recognize handwritten formulas and provide instant solutions with step-by-step instructions and visualizations.
In addition to solving math problems of all types, this intuitive webapp can also provide a small list of practice quizzes where students can test their knowledge in various fields of math such as exponents, linear equations, quadratic equations, inequalities, and more.
Installation
Math Solver can most easily be deployed on any modern Windows PC by downloading and installing an official Microsoft Edge browser add-on. This way, students can always get instant access to comprehensive math and science tool, without the need to manage a large standalone application.
Edge users can even scan the current desktop page for math equations, select desired equations, and get instant answers. Mobile app users can also load math problems from pictures in the photo galleries, search for similar problems and lectures online, scan plot X-Y data tables, and much more.
