ObjectDock is an animated dock for Windows that enables you to quickly access and launch your favorite applications, files, and shortcuts. It can also automatically hide when not in use and will reappear when you move your mouse to its position. Apply effects, customize the color, size, and position, plus more with ObjectDock!

ObjectDock is now Object Desktop.

Features and Highlights

Multiple docks
Create as many docks as you wish to organize your shortcuts and applications into logical groups.

Tabbed docks
Categorize your desktop items even further with tabbed docks for your programs, documents, links, and other items. Easily customize the tab names, order, color, and position.

Drag and drop application launching
Drag a text file, for example, to your docked word processing application to quickly open the file right from your dock.

Size, position, and number of icons
The app puts you in control of how big (or small) your dock is, where it appears on your screen, and the icons that populate it. You can even place a dock on a second display!

Special effects
Personalize your docks with unique animated effects that occur when you mouse-over docked items.

Personalize your dock with downloadable skins
Choose from the many dock skins included with Object Dock or discover a new favorite for free at community.

Enhanced Desktop Organization: It provides a visually appealing and efficient way to organize your desktop icons and shortcuts. You can group related items on the dock for easy access.

Customization: It offers a high level of customization. You can personalize the appearance of the dock, including themes, backgrounds, and icon sizes. This allows you to create a dock that matches your preferences and desktop aesthetics.

Quick Access: You can pin your favorite applications, files, and folders to the dock, making them easily accessible with a single click. This can help streamline your workflow and reduce desktop clutter.

Running Applications: It can display running applications on the dock, making it easy to switch between open programs without having to use the Windows taskbar.

Widgets and Gadgets: Some versions of the software include widgets or gadgets that you can add to your dock for additional functionality, such as weather updates, system monitoring, or quick access to important information.

Stability: The dock app is generally stable and doesn't tend to cause system instability or crashes when properly configured.

Resource Intensive: It can consume a significant amount of system resources, especially if you have a lot of icons, widgets, or animations enabled. This may lead to slower system performance, particularly on older or less powerful computers.

Free vs. Paid Versions: While there is a free version of the app available, it comes with limitations, such as fewer customization options and the inclusion of ads. The paid version, ObjectDock Plus, offers more features but comes at a cost.

Compatibility: The tool is primarily designed for Windows, so it may not work well with other operating systems. Additionally, it may not always be fully compatible with the latest Windows updates, requiring updates from the developer.

Learning Curve: Customizing the program and getting it to work exactly the way you want it can be a bit complex, especially for users who are not familiar with this type of software.

Alternative Solutions: Windows has its own taskbar and Start menu, and some users may find that the app duplicates functionality they already have. It may not be necessary for everyone.
