WWE 2K20 is a professional wrestling video game developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K Sports in late 2019. It is an official videogame of WWE, the largest and best-known professional wrestling company. This is the first game in this almost two-decade-long series that was not developed by development team Yuke's.

Sadly, after its debut, this title was panned by critics and gamers for its underdeveloped state and poor quality, numerous bugs, gameplay glitches, and crashes, and more. In the subsequent months after its release, the game received numerous software patches and fixes that managed to resolve the vast majority of launch issues, but by that point, the game never managed to shake its public image of a failed launch.
  • 2K Showcase: The Women's Evolution
  • MyCAREER – Featuring both Male & Female MyPLAYERS!
  • New Game Modes and Streamlined Controls
While many of the previously featured modes return in this game, not all of them are produced with the same level of quality that was present in Yuke’s games.

The main game mode (“2K Showcase Mode: Women’s Evolution”) centers around the storyline of Four Horsewomen of WWE (professional wrestlers Bayley, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, and Charlotte Flair) over the selection of 15 high profile matches. In addition to this mode, the game also promotes the WWE 2K20 MyCareer Mode where players can create their own unique male or female wrestler and take them on the road to rise from a small indie wrestler to a WWE Hall of Fame inductee. 2K Towers gauntlet mode returns with a big focus (50 stages!) on the career of WWE superstar Roman Reigns.

Other notable modes found in the game are online multiplayer with fully functioning lobbies and Road to Glory mode, WWE Universe manager mode, Mixed Tag Team Match mode, Weapon customization mode, and creation suite where players can design not only their unique wrestler, but also his or hers entrances, victory scenes, and much more.

The gameplay is closely following the attack, defense, and movement systems introduced in previous WWE 2K titles, with only a few notable changes regarding Reversals, use of weapons, and imitation of submission moves. The gameplay can be made simpler with the help of the Assist Mode option.

It features 180 playable wrestlers from the WWE long history, enhanced commentary with 20 new lines of dialogues, special commentator coverage on 200 superstar rivalries, new visual and audio effects, and much more. Many DLC offerings are provided through WWE 2K Originals service, including new playable arenas, superstars, story towers, unlockable content, and more.

It was not welcomed with open hands at its launch, but it still represents a notable title in the long history of WWE video games. Due to the effects of the 2020 pandemic, its sequel WWE 2K21 was canceled.
