Blade and Sorcery is an ambitious melee combat VR game that allows PC users of all ages to become masters of swordplay and become immersed in a medieval fantasy sandbox world where all interactions are driven by a complex physics engine that fuels not only direct melee moves but also ranged and magic combat.

Requires a virtual reality headset. See system requirements for more information.

Since its arrival on the PC VR scene in late 2018, this game managed to evolve into a highly enjoyable VR experience that is today in early 2024 still offered as an Early Access Game due to it still lacking advanced modes of play such as a singleplayer story campaign.

Key Features

Blade and Sorcery is a VR game that enables both novices and seasoned gamers to master the techniques of medieval fantasy combat that consists of swordplay, ranged bow combat, and a wide array of powerful magic spells.

Instead of unrealistic floating, weightless, and wiggle-sword combat scenarios present in many other VR games, the main rendering engine of Blade and Sorcery infuses every move made by players into a fully physics-driven reaction that can accurately impact surrounding objects and enemies.

The game accurately manages hand controller-driven collisions, detects hitboxes, and transfers the weights from colliding objects in a very realistic way.

In fact, all objects (including bodies and body parts) are rendered with uncanny precision and presence, with the blades even being able to penetrate soft materials.

Magic elements of this title can be used in a wide variety of ways, from offensive ranged moves, defensive moves, and magical enchantment of bladed weaponry.

Due to its sandbox nature, Blade and Sorcery VR can be played for an unlimited amount of time, always presenting players with new and unique combat scenarios that are limited only by their creativity.

The game features a wide selection of weapons, combat stances, magics elements, and a realistic combat arena where players can showcase their melee or ranged combat skills in style.
