WordTune is distributed online primarily as a Google Chrome browser add-on that can instantly offer cloud-powered writing recommendations in any website that users frequent. This includes a wide variety of productivity, communication, and social web destinations such as Google Docs, Gmail, Outlook Web, Slack Web, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and more.

The only non-browser writing product that this app can also serve is Microsoft Office Word (Office 2016, Office 2019, and Microsoft 365. But this integration is done not with the Google Chrome plugin, but a standalone plugin available from Microsoft’s Add-in store (AppSource). Google Chrome plugin makes better writing available from any text field.

Users simply need to start writing, select and highlight the desired phrase or sentence, and pick one of the available popup buttons that will reformat the text with an authentic and compelling writing style. Users have the ability to quickly reformat the text with the “Rewrite” button or to select one of the two writing tones – “Formal” and “Casual”. Two additional buttons can make the highlighted text easier to understand by either shortening it or expanding it. All these changes are done lightning fast, with remote cloud service creating not only one recommendation but also a list of alternatives that users can easily pick from a dropdown window.

In addition to masterfully handling the written English language, this browser addon can also recognize and automatically translate several international languages into English (Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic, Hindi, Korean, Hebrew, and Russian), and then offer to rewrite and edit service for that English content.
